if he wanted to save more, couldnt he just get the e6550 instead of the e6750?
the e6550 is cheaper and will clock to 3.0 easily without any volt increase.
Mine got to 3.2 without any volt increase, my ram couldve helped though.

Well to be safe, the e6750 should be worth the extra bucks. I dont think he will even need an aftermarket hsf, but if he does i do have an intel one that i can give away for $15 shipped(acfp)

just watch out... sometimes the e6750 is cheaper than the e6550... so watch out for that... (i wish the e6750 had a 10x multiplier... 8x is kinda unsatisfying to me)
