Hey guys, I come to you with another question.
I was wondering if this video card would hold me over in gaming for the next year. I'm looking to play some Call of Duty 4, Battlefield 2142, and Bioshock.

No. The 8600's Rev. 1 are a total waste of money, I suggest the 8800GT if you are looking for a good card right now, or get a 8800GTS Rev. 2 which isn't out yet, but will be soon.

Yeah, by next year do you mean next month of Januray 2008? or until December 2008? lol. Because in a year a lot of new stuff can happen. Might as well get an 8800gt though, but that x1950 pro is a good deal.

btw, just a little info about open box items from newegg: I ordered my motherboard from them open box for $35 and when i got it it was with the box and the accessories and everything. It looked new and like it had never been opened. I'm not sure what happened on newegg's part, but i was happy with it. They say that you're only getting the oem version but mine came with everything, so I trust Open box.

open box is usually not recommended for mobo and psu
as they can "leave out" cables and such
but for HSF's, HDD, Vid cards, sound cards, and keyboards its usually okay
