2.5ghz! every single c2d I've owned has done over 3ghz with ease. In fact, I don't think I've ever heard of anyone not able to clock to 3ghz at least

um yeah ive spoken with of lots of folks that cant break 2.65 with c2ds.
once again not starting a flame war, but not all intel cpus will achieve 3+ghz overclocks.
especially allendales.

true, people seem to think that all intels are just as overclockable as the higher end ones. The e2160 starts out at 1.8, and to get to 3.0 you would need good ram too, so a lot of factors come into play. Yes its true that Intels are generally better at O/Cing then AMD's, but at the same time that doesn't mean every Intel will out OC every AMD.

i hope your not counting the e2*** series as C2D, cuz they're pentium dual-cores

im talking about the e4*** c2ds, specifically.
the 2*** may be pentiums, but they have the same core architecture.
so, yes, i am talking about all allendales.

Well personally I have never seen anyone having problems reaching 3+ghz with an Allendale.....in fact most I've seen do a min. of 3.2ghz. I would say that if they can't do 3ghz then that's the users' fault.

Maybe not ALL c2ds will reach 3ghz, but 99.99% of them will do that as a minimum....even the absolute worst steppings.

Maybe those are the old steppings

But I'm sure that allendales that use M0 stepping such as E4500 can easily achieve 3+ghz
