overclocking my E2180

I couldnt get anything past 2.9ghz stable at 1.325V. Out of curiosity, what is your Vid on the cpu. Mine is 1.5 :( I'm starting to think i got a crappy chip compared to my excellent q6600.

Core voltage and Vid are 2 different things. No matter what your core voltage is set to, the Vid never changes, and ya it shows up in cpu-z. Example, my q6600 has a Vid of 1.2 and the e2180 has a vid of 1.5

whats this vid thing? I can't find it in CPU-Z

anyways, is the stock voltage for E2180 supposed to be 1.325V? Apparently my CPU came with volts at 1.152-1.168-1.184 (CPU-Z shows the voltage fluctuating between these three values)

my experience with my e2180:

been running orthos for about 2 hours now on stock vcore @ 3050 mhz

cpu-z reports the voltage varying between 1.280 1.296 and 1.304

everest home is being kinda weird :freak: shows me with 375 fsb and 8x multiplier. i cant find vcore reading in everest? and it only shows temps of my harddrive and gpu? i've been using speedfan and TAT to read temps, under stress im at about 50 deg. celcius w/ stock heatsink, spiked highest at 55

and the only core voltage setting i see in my bios says : 0.0000

sorry i'm kinda new to this whole thing xD

when i RMA'd my mobo i forgot to take off the retention bracket for my tuniq tower, so i'm stuck using stock heatsink :sigh:
