My birthday is coming up and I wanted to see what you think about laptops
My budget is $1500 and I thought about getting a Mac just because I never had one
Are they reliable machines? or should I just spend that money on PC and get Vista ( that has a lot of problems lately)
Another thing is that Pc laptops loose their values pretty quick and macs look stable why is that any idea?

Everything loses their value in around 6 months. macs are fun for multimedia purposes but you might not be able to do much gaming. A $1500 laptop for gaming might be only as strong like $800 PC.

macs are fun, Just keep an open mind. Another tip, Everything is " floaty" its like no structure.. way left feild for windows users..

I don't mean to sound like a fan boy, but I'd still keep a PC in mind.

I've never used a Mac, but it seems like a PC can do everything a Mac can do, and more (especially for gaming). It's also easier to get software for PC's.

I'd go with Linux before I went with a Mac.

... and on a new machine, I don't think you would have too many problems with Vista. Maybe just learning how to use it, but you'd have those same problems on a Mac as well.
