i need serious advice and opinion!

I have recently built my first gaming PC and it ran like a champ for about 1 month....up until recently my PC processor is overheating

I run a P4 2.8gig w/HT CPU and its awsome but... i dont know what to do about the overheating. Someone HELP!!!

do you have a northwood or prescott core? cause prescotts are a lot hotter than northwoods

hmmm... not sure i can tell you that its thye D865PERL chipset and the CPU is a 478 pin socket...i dont know if that even helps?

see..i thought it was the fan and heatsink i have because they are the stock fan and heatsink...

how exactly do i tell what core i have..?

do you know the cache?

if its 512k - northwood

if it 1024k (1mb) - prescott

also, it should say on the receipt or website

its 512 im sure cause i remember reading it in the mobo installation guide or somewhere.

how many fans do you have? and how are they setup?

well i have only the cpu and heatsink fan but tomrw is payday and i plan on stopping to get my optional case fan (for Antec Sonata 400w case) but other than that two including the original
case fan.......should i have more?(probably huh?)

i do have an exaust fan for my graphix card that burned out within like 2 weeks of use
