Question about dual layer dvd burners.

I give my sister my old dvd burn (It was fairly old) so I need a new one. Can a dual layer dvd burn burn dvd movies on a DL dvd disk with a program like DvdClone (slysoft product).

And does this one seem like a good one to you?

Yes, a DVD drive that supports DL can burn to blank DL discs.

I assumed that. I just wasn't sure if DvdClone (or if any dvd riping program) supported it.

and would a norm (tv) dvd player be able to read them?

Yes, most DVD players should read them just fine.

Though, Clone DVD can re-encode movies to fit on a regular DVD.

Hm.... I cant remember if mine is a Dual Layer DVD Burner......

I guess it is.... I just looked at my order history at newegg and found my burner still in there...

Duel layer DVD's are much more expensive (about 4 times), I didn't realize when I bought a stack of blank DVD's that they were only 4.5g DVD's, no wonder they were cheap. Duel Layer's still sell for around $1 a piece in bulk.
