im not 100% sure :| codenames/models/versions

Intel Core 2 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The successor to the Merom core currently used for the Core 2 Duo T5000/T7000 series mobile processors, code-named Penryn

Intel released sixteen new 45 nm Penryn processors on November 12, 2007. However, all but the QX9650 were Xeon models.

It is a Yorkfield thats for sure

I was thinking it was the codename for all the new 45nm cpu's and the other names was different models.

anyone?

what invisible said. thats way under your budget and will play everything you want. Penryn is basically the code name for the 45nm cpu's. Yorkfield is the quadcore.

i go with Deadpixels build.. noooice. Way under budget... with the saving id get a better razer mouse :p (copperhead, deathadder, Lachesis)

is that P5K motherboard SLi? cos he did list SLi on his list. Maybe he wants that option.

Personal opinion - I'd just stick with the single card theory bc/ by the time you truly need SLI or Crossfire (excluding a "pineapple" like Crysis - 10 points for whoever gets this recent tv show reference) then another single card will come out that can beat your SLI setup.
Bottom line for me: Why overkill when you don't have to?
