XMS RAM help

I was looking on newegg.com

i saw the 2 same DIMMS set for about $4 apart and the only difference was the special feature :

one had black heat spreader, while the other had a platinum heat spreader . . .

the latter was $239, while the former was $235

is platinum better than black?

im asking, though one is more expensive . . .

i have seen a 3.2 GHz processor that is cheaper than a 3.0GHz processor (intel)

same core, same cache, same fsb . . .

it was $10 cheaper! lol

if the specs are the same it probably doesnt matter

I have the platinum version just because i like the shiny metal.

They are both the exact same. They just offer their models in both black and platinum.

whats registered and unbuffered ram?

registered ram sucks and is way more expensive for slower performance

It is needed for socket 940 and i don't know what else

so . . . i guess its unbuffered for me
