im going to be orderign 2 3870's for cross fire, im still undesisive on my cpu either a q6600 or a phenom 9500, if i get a q6600 il be buyign a maximus formula, if i get the phenom il buy the asus am2= mobo, my one consern is upgradability, if i go phenom il be able to go farther in upgrades, in the long run, if i get a q6600 i would be changing socket next year.

okay. i was reading earlier that even though penryn uses 775, mobo support is not guaranteed. kinda like the p4 775. maybe, maybe not.

aslong as the mobo supports the 45nm cpus and current Kentsfield, i would say go intel. cos you can upgrade the cpu from Q6600 to a Penryn Q9*** way down the line, And it will be better price then. Kenty 2 Yorky
Im pretty sure the Phenom build would be good still. Its up to you
Nehalem is still some time away and probably aint gonna be cheap on release neither and probably require a build from scratch.

Actually, I had an NZXT Apollo. Really cool case, but it was a bit more narrower than I thought it'd be. Also, the side fan might be an issue if you want to install the Tuniq!

I'm sure the Maximus formula will support the new Intel chips, at least with a BIOS upgrade

the fan isd where the video cards are, so the tuniq will fit. also i was happy to know with cross fire i can keep my duel monitors.

ya my tuniq barely fits in my full tower with side fans
i'm trying to find thinner 120mm to buy later to get a better fit

ya but the 120 mm fan is above the video cards not the cpu so it should fit, if not il move it to the back and put the back one infront, i was planign to have 3 fans tho as i have a nikoa chameleon blue led fan and its amazing so i was gonna put that in the apollo, in the back to add more light and put the black one infront.
