no need for 3GB, either go 2GB or 4GB. (better performance in pairs)

if that is right, no need right now for 2 3870 GPU's... those things are nice as is in single... I think it would be just bragging rights to have 2 cards right now.

unless your going to OC like crazy or just REALLY want it, water cooling doesn't make that much of a difference. A good Air cooler in a good case can save you some money.

I would take all the savings you make and get a good set of speakers... maybe some Z-5500's or Z-5300 or even a Klipsech set (sp)

I would maybe think about 2 320GB hard drives instead of one huge one. 1. Single point of failure (if it happens) resulting in a total lose of all data. 2. A pair can be raided and get better performance out of them. 3. Cost effective as well... the bigger the drive the more expensive.

just my 2 1/2 cents

good advice from Nukem

better go with 4gb RAM (for vista performance) all the same type.

Try one 3870 for now.. will save on your build.. you can always pop one in later when you really need it, at a lower price too.

Watercooling is personal preference.. if you want to try for super overclocks by all means go for it... but as Nukem says good air cooler will do nicely.

Speakers matter alot to me and quiet alot of people, something thats often overlooked. Remember your pc is now your new home music centre.

Very good advice about going raid. Safer and better performance. ;)

Thats one sick rig man.
this isnt a budget/performance system, its a higher end performance system, hence keep the 3870's as you will need them when you game at 1920x1200.

i wouldnt doubt if you could almost hit 4ghz with that set up. I'm hitting 3.5 with the same setup on air....

I would personally stick with the stock CPU cooler till you decide to water cool, whats the point in spending that extra money when you plan on water cooling it anyway?

If you are willing to give RAID a try then you should listen to nukem.
You'll get faster load times out of a raid array, and it will be cheaper then using a single 500Gb drive. With the maximus its an incredibly easy process to set up.

also im gonna stick with watercooling, so ill take the cooling freezer out
also ill move a video card to the get later list. i like 3 gb i dont know why, and im not getting 4 cuz i dont want to get 64 bit vista. Anything else?

RAID is not hard to set up. You do that in the initial setup of the OS. Your choice, but 3GB is not going to provide any more performance than 2GB at this point. but for the most part you have a nice setup in H2O so I think you'll be happy with it.

oh and 4GB isn't just for 64-bit anymore... more and more games, and apps are taking advantage of the ram, Vista alone will love more and more ram.
