i was using my hd tv which is a samsung1080p tv with 10000:1 contrast to play team fortress it was beutiful. alltho i didnt get any frame drops from my 1280x1024 to the 1080p, so im asuming 1080p is comparable to 1280x1024? just not wide screen.
Ya i'm excited to get my htpc set up. My 5 year old sony 42" wega only has a dvi input so it should in theory just work like a huge monitor with mediocre resolution. Pretty sure its only 1080i as its one of the first rear projection lcd tv's that was on the market. Good news is, since its first gen im pretty sure it was made in japan and not china
i got a question. How do u count the lines of pixels to know what the exact resolution is? I mean, ppl already found out that Halo 3 displays 640p but upscaled to 720p, 1080i/p.
the sharpness is increased, with a 1080p detail tho you can see more texturs, if it is added to the disk, liek i have a dvd upscail and everything looks sharp crisp and amazing it only lacks texture.
1920 x(multiplied) by 1080 = 2073600 pixels. Thats how you get your pixels
i dont know much about upscalling, other then the fact thats that a 1080i picture upscaled to 1080p isnt considered the true 1080p picture because to get a 1080p picture it has to be recorded in 1080p. As well there is no such thing as 720i, only 720p.
ya thats what im saying it will upscale teh resolution, but you wont have the textures and detail of the 1080p just the sharpness, its hard to descrive, the higher teh resolution the more textures are able to be displayed.
