Ok im building a computer scratch for a buddy of mine. Problem im having is when I turn it on it does nothing. The fans just turn on but thats it. The board I got is Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!. The power supply I got is Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!. Theres a 8 pin connector for the cpu and a standard plug for the video. Is this ps compatible with the board? Im thinking its not but just want to see if somebody knows for sure.

Ive tried everything. Unplugged the hard drive, roms. Switch pci slots for video, swapped memory around. Had the one plug by the pcie slot plugged in, unplugged. The sounds it makes is normal. You hear everything start up and it sounds like its gonna all go fine but the screen just stays black. Im clueless on this one
ok well I think I need a new power supply with a molex connect for PCIe and an 8 pin for the cpu. THis is my first core duo build so im learning a lot here. Also my first pci vid card build as well.
