What would you buy, a 8600GT or a 7600GT. From what i heard the 7600GT is abit more stable but i dont know what the **** that means... lol.

Prices (Aus):
7600GT: $109 (256mb)
8600GT: $140 (512mb)

HD3850 is the minimum you wanna go if you hardcore game.

outta those two, 7600GT, then upgrade to 8800GT when you get more money.

Trussst me, if i could get any card i'd go straight for the 8800GT, but yeah, just for my own knowledge in the future i want to know why the 7600GT is better than the 8600GT (if so).

i would say the 8600gt it seems to be good for the price, the 7 series is gettin too old....

but as said, 8800gt is ideal, if on short budget consider the 256mb version which is also very good until at high resolutions.

i would get neither of them cards.. like the others said.

Nvidia 8800GT or ATi 3870 ... might be a few more bucks to your budget but really think about it is a few more bucks worth not feeling frustrated cos you lag like a *****.

:)

agreed, try play crysis with a 8600gt let alone a 7600gt. right now gaming really needs a 8800gt or 3870 or better.

Yes yes yes, i understand there are cards that take a dump on the (x)600 models. As I stated, i just wanted to know if the 8600GT is that much better. Im gonna go with the 7600GT if i do end up doing it. Seems like a solid reliable card just under the mid range spectrum.

get the 7600gt... cuz i have a huge feeling that that 512mb of VRAM is actually GDDR2 on the 8600gt... plus.. you can stepup once u get more Dough...

i have an superdupa overclocked 7800GS 512mb .. and its NOT GOOD ENOUGH..for anything coming out now. So why you want to get a lesser card then this is silly. Unless you only want to play old games.

i still say.. save up more and get a card that will perform well.. Otherwise your really throwing money away for no actual benefit.

in uk..
7600GT costs = £58
8600GT = £93
8800GT = £146

£50 more and you get a card that will beat both them other cards together x 2! :D lol
