Media center pc.. my old rig? or need of an update?

Would this work for a rig to watch dvds on my 40" widescreen? I should beef up the video card right? new mobo and a pcie card i would think?....

To play movies on a tv is no sweat for a computer. I have a old p4 rig with a fx 5200 and it is plenty

so its fine? i mean the quality of picture will be the same as if i was using a Regular Dvd player? ( I said regular so ppl dont think im talking about hddvd...) Cool beans if it is...

of course its fine, cept if your doing some high def or blu ray play back might want something more better.

Now about the picture quality...

That might present a problem. Your pc runs at a higher resolution then a dvd normally does... so that stretches the pixels... It will depend on what the resolution the tv will run at.

ok so i need to look at resolutions of tv and vid and try to match them?
