Speaker/Headphone Jack dont work ?

Hello, I bought new Logitech X140 2.0 speakers and i plugged the Speaker Jack into the Green port on my Laptop and No sound is coming out This is on vista home, I then formatted to XP Professional and Plugged speakers in and Then it Worked ??... VIA HD Audio is my Sound Device

What could be the problem ? as i want to be on Vista

Ive been on Sound device properties aswell and the green Jack shows up in the Properties menu but doesnt Do anything ?

Did you turn on the External Audio Jack in Vista? Since it isnt the built in speakers you have to turn the external jack on.
