New pc. Maximus formula, and watercooling.

ok below is what im going to buy for a new computer, i was just wondering if it will all work and if im missing anything i need in a pc. Like will this all fit in the case and have enough power and just work. also i want to add watercooling because i read the maximus formula board has a built in water cooling thing for the north bridge or something and i want to utilize that. But i have no idea. Also what is better, dont care about price just what has better performance a 8800GT or a Diamond Viper Radeon HD 3870 512MB, need some help!

that depends.. well if you want an 8800gt in SLi.. you need to change your board... to something else... if you want Crossfire your board supports it..

as for 8800gt vs an hd3870... at that point its kinda of a gamble..

an 8800gt is better right now.. and the hd3870 is a bit weaker.... but AMD is known to crap out on their first drivers.. so theres a possibility that it can become a lot better... and then people with 8800gt's start crying..

As far as installing drivers, it isn't hard. First step is to assemble hardware. Next you install the OS. After that, it is a matter of putting the various disc's you get into the optical drive, and installing the drivers from there. To update, simply visit the manufacturer's website for that device, and view the instructions.

lol, ignore that, the only reason that is there is for the water cooling enthusiast's.

Now, unless your planning on water cooling, which i wouldnt suggest for you right now as you still seem pretty new to all this, theres no reason to get the SE. buy the normal maximus formula, that one has heatsinks over the NB instead of that water block.

heads up with the 8800GT, be prepared to wait a while, i ordered my comp 2 weeks ago, still waiting on my 8800GT

the only other thing is you probably want to order a few more fans. i dont know how many come with your case, or how many case fans your case can support, but you need a 120mm fan for the thermalright heatsink. Then some more for your side panel.


Other then that, close your eyes and pray they send you a G0. Chances are they will but every now and then someone gets the unlucky B3.
