This is my first time building and I have visited a ton of tutorials and what not but still feel some uncertainty.
Here is what I bought.
Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD7500AAKS 750GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
Newegg.com - Western Digital Raptor WD1500ADFD 150GB 10,000 RPM 16MB Cache Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM
Newegg.com - EVGA 640-P2-N829-A1 GeForce 8800GTS SSC 640MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail
Newegg.com - ASUS P5E3 Deluxe/WiFi-AP LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 Conroe 3.0GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail
Newegg.com - Rosewill RX950-S-B ATX 12V v2.2 & EPS 12V v2.91 950W Power Supply 100 - 240 V TUV, FCC, UL, CE, ROHS - Retail
Newegg.com - Thermaltake Armor Series VA8003BWS Black Full Tower Case w/ 25CM Fan - Retail
Newegg.com - CORSAIR 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

I'm pretty sure it is all compatable but I still have a few lingering questions.
1.) It sais the CPU comes w/ a heat sink and a fan. Does that mean that their is no need for me to buy a thermal compound and apply it?
2.) What is a SATA / RAID controller? Is it already on the motherboard? Do I need to buy one (or more?)?
3.) The case sais it has 5.25" external drive bays but all the combo drives I looked at said 5" form factor. Is it going to fit?

Any other suggestions?
Please help

1. You don't need to buy an aftermarket cooler or paste, but it is highly reccomended if you want to overclock. So you will see reccomendations for heatsinks and thermal pastes.
2. There is a software controller on the motherboard. You do not need to buy one.
3. Far as I know combo drives simply mean they are both dvd and cd Burners or readers. So it will fit.

So you want to spend 250$ on a power supply huh? You don't need near 950 watts, But if you still want to spend that much, choose from these instead of the one you linked.
Newegg.com - SILVERSTONE DECATHLON DA850 ATX12V / EPS12V 850W Power Supply 100 - 240 V CE, cUL, FCC, TUV - Retail
Newegg.com - FSP Group Everest 800 ATX12V V2.2/EPS V2.91 800W Power Supply 100 - 240 V RoHS, UL, CSA, VDE, NEMKO, CNS, CE, CB, FCC - Retail
Newegg.com - ENERMAX INFINITI EIN720AWT ATX12V/ EPS12V 720W Power Supply 100 - 240 V RoHS - Retail
Newegg.com - XCLIO STABLEPOWER 1000W ATX 1000W Power Supply 115/230 V UL, CUL, TUV, CB, VDE, FIMKO, DEMKO, NEMKO, SEMKO - Retail
Also I reccomend a GT instead of a GTS, and as for the power supply most people would just reccomend the 520 Watt Corsair for this build.

thanks guys. Unfortunately I already bought all the stuff I listed and it has already been shipped so I can't change the power supply (the reason I bought that particular one is it came in a combo deal and saved me 100 bucks). I just want to make sure I have everything I need to build a quality system and ensure it doesn't overheat like my current computer that was built by some random.

Thanks, Again.

u bought an e6850? why? for that price the q6600 owns.... (actually the q6600 is a bit cheaper.. )
