no they both have more the enuf resourcess to out do each other, there running in billions of dollars, thats not chump change, they invest as much money as needed to make it good, all your saying is intel has more money to toss around which isnt exacly a good thing, they just toss money in, and they spend more money on research so by the time the chip is released it costs 600$ for a descent one just like the core 2 duos where at release, these are 300$ and arent out yet if thats there actuall price and they perform just as good theyve allready outdone intel in a bussiness sence, they made a new chip that performs just as well, spent less money and are gonna make money.

Do you actually READ what you are posting..?

More money = More R & D ---> Better processors

More money ---> Better prices

but dude...if you spend 10 billion on something to research it, you are going to have to charge more money to cover your overhead. you can't spend and spend and spend and then release something cheap. you'll go bankrupt...

which is why the price of a baseball ticket went up around 20 dollars @ yankee stadium when they signed A-Rod.
they HAD to cover the cost of his 250 million dollar overhead...

intel does have much mo0re capital to invest in overhead, though.
lets just wait and see. i think agena > smacks any current c2d processor at the same price. (note CURRENT)

It doesn't matter, the fact that they developed a better product means more sales. Intel just has better brand recognition in the mainstream market and it has also gained popularity in the enthusiast market because of sheer superior performance. Besides, AMD is releasing their competition way too late, especially with the Yorkfields just around the corner. A Q9450 is going to be $316 on release! 4GHz on air, superior architecture and 12MB of L2 cahce, wtf.

And by the way CntdwnToExtn, numerous people on this thread have explained to you that the Q6600 is the real thing to worry about for competition and the gap in performance between the Q6700 and other top-end Intel quads chips is not that high to the Q6600, especially when you overclock.

A Q6600 is $300 with a Tuniq and you're pretty much guaranteed at least 3.5GHz in overclocking.

exacly you got my idea amd didnt have to spend much money and theyve produced something more promesing at a cheaper price, and didnt spend much money. well see for sure when the am2+ mobos are released. if it does perfom alot better then amd has won on both side's businesse wise and consumer wise.
