Hello, a few weeks ago I came here asking for a build that cost around $800. After upping my budget a bit to $1000, plus or minus $200, I put together my own build and would like to see what you guys think. I already have the monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

The computer will be used for games such as Crysis, CoD4, UT3, and others with similar requirements.

Here are the parts I have come up with:

Cooler Master 690 case $79.99

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L $93.99

EVGA 8800GT SC GPU $289.99

Corsair 520hx PSU $119.99

Intel Core 2 Quad q6600 CPU $279.99

Crucial Ballistix 2 x 1G DDR2 600 $89.99

Seagate Barracuda 320gb HDD $69.99

LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD Burner $32.99

Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit OEM $111.99

TRUE 120 heatsink $64.99

Scythe S-flex heatsink fan $14.99

MX-2 Thermal Paste $6.99

Total Price: $1255.88

Other than buying parts from other retailers, is there any way I could cut the cost to as close to $1000 as possible, while maintaining most, if not all of the same performance? (It's ok if that isn't possible.) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Excellent build...however the Abit Ip35-E overclocks better than the DS3L with the same features for less.

The only way I see to cut costs is maybe get the Tuniq Tower instead of that TRUE + S-Flex.

Other than that, you would have to back it down to dual core to cut costs.
