Hi, I am new to building computers and working on them, and I am getting a new hard drive. Can someone please tell me how to transfer all of my data from my current hard drive to a new one? Thanks.
If u only have 1 pc, connect the new HDD n make it slave, then copy n paste all your data onto the new HDD. Remember to format the HDD using the same file system as your old HDD.
If u have 2 pc, u can peer to peer LAN together can transfer the data from your old HDD to your new HDD.
Ok thanks, how do you figure out what format it is in, and how to change it if needed? And does it matter if th0e new hard drive is SATA and the old one is not?
