Corsair PSU

Quick question,

Just put my rig together and its all booted up nice...just my PSU fan aint moving.

In the old days I know i was plugging it into the power fan socket on my mobo but i can't seem to see that in the instructions or have a cable...

Does it just turn on when needs be? I thought PSU fans were always on

Alot of the newer PSU's are 80% effecient now and dont need as much cooling. Not sure as far as if the fan should be on or not, but i would assume so. What model psu is it?

Hmm, did you check corsair's site? It's possible you just got a bad unit. I have a 520 in the mail right now so if you dont get an answer by the time mine shows up i'll let ya know.

Well I've found the PSU is thermally controlled in terms of fanspeeds, and obviously I've just booted for first time ever with a PC temp of 30 and CPU temp of 20 lol so maybe that could be it...will read more

Just did the paperclick test and the fan was turning, not very fast but it was working....eh hahah
