how many times can i validate my o/s with the key of authenticity? reason being... ive had to do a couple of formats over the past year or two.

is there limited ammounts microsoft will alow you to validate a fresh install with the same key?

the o/s, and sticker is legit btw. just curious.

If you dont change your hardware then you can do it as much as you want. I have used this same Vista Ultiamte key on this machine at least 25 times already. As long as your hardware profile stays the same you can format and re-install as much as you want.

i used my XP like mad formatting a lot through the years- eventually the quick online version fails and you call in toll free- just tell them your activating it on the same computer and the reason was from formatting- or if you had a virus attack they take sympothy on that too- ive probably validated my xp 50 times or more- i think after the 10th i had to start calling - it also seems to be a time period- I did it recently and didnt have to call- being over a month or 2 since the last formatting.
