I have two nvidia geforce 8500 GT's and i have them currently running on SLI because in the control panel for NVIDIA settings it has SLI enabled checked.

But it seems like the fps i'm getting with benchmarks and playing Counter Strike Source isnt as amazing as i thought it would be, my one friend said it was because my video cards are running x8 each instead of x16 each. I dont know how to check this.

Can someone please tell me how to check if my video cards are running at x16 each.

And if they arent running at x16 each can they tell me why and how to fix it?

Thank you in advanced.

Yes, sli runs at 8x on each card, but this isnt the problem. The problem is that you are using 8500's which are VERY low end cards.

then im an idiot for buying them...?

I wasnt aware that 7600 was better then 8500 untill after i had bought it and installed it. But i was under the impression that SLI could be run at 16x on my motherboard with the cards..
