Ok, so i believe i have some pretty good hardware in this computer

AMD64x2 5200+ cpu
Nvidia evga 7900gt
2g pc6400 ram
SATA 320g hdd
500w psu
Evga 112-M2-NF59 mobo
Windows XP media center edition

but sometimes it seems like my computer should be running better than it is... do you see any hardware flaws? Like maybe that my AMD cpu really isn't too fast and getting a AMD64 x2 was a bad idea or that my 7900gt isn't cutting it anymore and i should just simply upgrade to a 8800 series card. I'm going to start running games like Crysis, so i might as well upgrade to a 8 series.

I used to be happy with

A8N-SLI Deluxe
AMD Athlon 4000+
BFG 7800GT
2GB (4x512) DDR
80gb + 250gb WD HDDs

until I updated to my current rig. I don't see hardware failure on your end. I'm going to guess you should scan you computer for spyware, trojans, viruses, ect. defrag, uninstall unnecessary programs, not surf porn, and use firefox. Yay!

I can only run the crysis demo on medium/high
do you think it's the extra 1g of ram and little bit better gpu
what is a good all in one virus protection software that doesn't eat away system resources and slow down games

There is nothing wrong with your set-up...the X2 5200 and 7900GT are not slow components but they are very well suited to be called "mid-range". If you want to see some real performance then the first thing you can do is purchase an 8800GT when the price goes down a bit. The x2 5200 is still plenty fast enough for now to get good FPS.
