Yorkfields use a 45nm and is a quad-core and replaces Core 2 Quad's, Wolfdale replaces current Core 2 Duos is also 45nm... but dual-core

Which comes to a total of $1,173.35 including shipping. Which I think is fine, now i just need to choose a case. Which one would you guys recommend?

well somewhere near an X1950XT to not bottleneck it.. but its not gonna fit in that budget... why not wait another 6 more days and see if you can fit an 8800gt in there...
 
I decided I'm gunna wait a couple of days and buy the 8800GT. Thanks for all the recommendations guys. :D
 
good choice... its gonna be

200$ for the 256mb $250 for the 512mb....

the x1950xt is back on Newegg and is also worth considering..
 
but an 8600gt is always so underestimated... overclock that... it goes up really easily.... darn near 7950gt speeds

Woah! Have to step in here, the 128-bit memory interface heavily lower performance, no matter how high those clocks are. And nowadays, a 7950GT isn't too much to speak of :p

hmm i hope the 512mb is an improvement over the 256mb....cuz i'm probably getting that one if it outperforms the 2900 pro,,,,when are they going to get that thing in stock omg....
