Currently i have NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT and im looking to upgrade to a better video card for gaming pref. under $250 also

Specs are:
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+
1Gig Ram
MotherBoard: MSI K8N Neo4
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT

I think you should go for a 7600GT, another gig of RAM, either overclock the CPU or upgrade. What is the brand and model of your power supply?

ITS A TRAP. Dont do it man, its an endless spiral. If you upgrade the video card then you'll need to upgrade memory and cpu and power supply. It spirals out of control faster than you would believe!

Its been so long i dont remember what power supply i have, is there a way to check w/o opening the computer up? (i do have everest)

And i know its an endless cycle been down it before ><

Unfortunately, you do have to open up the side panel, to see what kind of power supply you have. Everest does not report that.
