I'm getting a gaming PC in about a month and have a limited budget. My question is what kind of rig would you suggest? Should I build my own or get a premade?

Also, I was looking at one with these specs :
CPU: (Sckt775)Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6750 CPU @ 2.66GHz 1333FSB 4MB L2 Cache 64-bit
Mainboard: ($20 off Mail-in Rebate) (Quad-Core FSB1333) MSI P6N SLI-FI nForce 650i SLI Chipset LGA775 FSB1333 DDR2 Mainboard
Memory: (Req.DDR2 MainBoard)2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 DDR2/800 Dual Channel Memory (Corsair Value Select or Major Brand)
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 512MB 16X PCI Express
Video Card 2: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 512MB 16X PCI Express
LCD Monitor: ViewSonic Q9B 19& quot; COLOR TFT Active Matrix SXGA LCD Display 1280x1028 (Original Black)
HARD DRIVE: Single Hard Drive (320GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16MB Cache 7200RPM HDD)
Optical Drive: (Special Price) 18X DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW DRIVE DUAL LAYER (BLACK COLOR)
Optical Drive 2: 16X DVD ROM (BLACK COLOR)
Sound: 3D WAVE ON-BOARD 5.1 SOUND CARD

Would that be able to handle most of the stuff I'd throw at it?

I don't think I'm a fan of the 8600 GT SLI.

You'd be better off with a 8800 GTS, or a 2900 PRO, I think.

I'd just build your own...

I think you're right: one better video card is way better then two lower quality.

It would allow you to get a better motherboard as well...
Are you planning on overclocking? (in which case you might want a memory upgrade)

Build it yourself. This would kill that premade build.

Just my 2cents

So upgrade to an 8800 GTS and upgrade the motherboard? What motherboard would you guys recommend. Also, I'm looking at a PC from buyxg, not CyberPower, don't know if that makes a difference though.

I might need to add that I've never built my own PC, so that might pose a problem.

don't worry about it.. we've converted people to building instead of buying...

but if your worried go to NCIXUS.com and buy the assembly feature.. .($15) choose the part we recommend and then they assemble it to u if its compatible..

Definitely build...you will have a lot more fun and will learn a lot. You really cant do anything bad to it, and worst case if it doesn't work you can just take it to a local shop.
