i dont think so, ive seen benchmarks to the contrary, but i think we can all agree that the heat difference is enough to make northwoods better at 3 ghz
 
wait a sec.....I thought all this was discussed early on in this thread. Not that I am too concerned about it all but this thread got a little out of control. The original question had to completely do with a 2.4 not a 3.0+. Anywasy thats ok I guess cuz I did learn about Northwood vs. Prescott and I am glad I made my return/exchange from the prescott to the northwood....:D

They do not test all the peramiters of the cpu AND include any other parts in the pc to operate thus making them bios.
the Prescotts are designed to be better in 3.6GHZ, but they actually do slightly beat northwoods in 3GHZ

They do not as the heat is enough to heat my house plus longer pipelines means it take longer for the cpu to complete a cycle thus meaning it would take longer until the clock speed gets higher.
