The idea of the Virtual PC is to load another OS while you have one version of Windows already running through a virtual environment. DOSBox works very much along the same lines where you can take an old 8bit dos game and run it on a Vista machine.
That was something to hear the original 8bit Duke Nukem through 5.1 speakers rather then the one on the board.
