8x vs 10x. The 2x is free, meaning you don't have to do anything to get it, like over clocking. It's set there and you can use it to your own advantage.

Then there is "unlocked" multipliers which, in Intels case are extremely expensive. But they also overclock even better.

yep... there are the FX's (the FX-6x and lower are relatively cheap, ask Nosboost he would know) and the "Black Edition" Processors which are relatively cheap (just the x2 5000+ and x2 6400+ but the 5000+ is wayyy better for your price)
