I want to play Airborne, and my 6200 agp card def. cant handle it.

I want a system that will play airborne atleast at medium settings.

Im gonna reuse my HP mid tower and my 17 lcd, keyboard &mouse also my cd drive, will add a sata dvdrw drive later on. will use mobo onboard sound.

The last build i did was when 3800amd & 7600gt was cutting edge lol its been awhile, and i sold that rig on ebay.

Wont be doing much OC, but maybe a little. If i OC, i will add bigger zalman heatsinks and fans. I want a QUIET system, no lights. I want to be able to DUAL boot, linux and windows. i want to try ubuntu and windows vista--64bit is best right?

looking to spend around $500 for:

Mobo-sata capable, pci-e, decent OC ability, 4gb of ram capable

Processer-64bit pretty decent one.

Ram-my 2x 256mb cards plus new 1gb, somthing i can add more in the future.

GPU-8 series card or comparable ati is ok, but all iv ever had experiance with is nvidia (6200 and 6600) so i dont know much about ati. NO SLI!!

PSU-Quality less than $100, i had a enermax noisetaker that i liked. remember, i want a quiet system.

hrmmm changed some stuff....

mobo-$100 or less
processor $150 or less--like core 2 duo 4400 for $133 or amd 5600+ for $139 Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Windsor 2.8GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor - Retail for the price isnt amd better?
ram-$50 or less, 1gb chip + my 512
gpu-$200 or less
psu-$100 or less
vista ultimate-$180

dam $820???

cut corners on ram & processor? (1gb ram, slower processor) i can upgrade that anytime. i got a 2.8 intel P4 now, anything decently faster than that is alright.

AMD Athlon X2 4200+ $74
Cheaper MSI or GIGABYTE Mobo $60
WD 250GB HD $65
A DATA 2GB $61
SAPPHIRE Radeon X1950PRO $150
APREVIA 500W $40
Vista 64bit $180

should be over $600. If anyone you know has a copy of an OS you should try to borrow it; you could save yourself more than $100.

mobo - p35-ds3l $100
processor - e2180 $90
RAM - 1gb ddr2 800 $40
psu - rosewill 500watt $45
vista premium 64-bit - $110
gpu - 2900 pro

total comes in around $600

is your HP case ATX compatible? I know a lot of pre-built computers use different types of motherboards.

I suggest...

Mobo: Abit Ip35-E (better OC'r and cheaper than the ds3l)
CPU: e2180
RAM: 2x1Gb Value DDR2-800 ram
GPU: X1950PRO
PSU: Xclio Goodpower

The total in my newegg cart came to $420 bucks. I suggest you find an X1950XT off ebay or something instead of the X1950PRO though...the regular 256mb version should be able to be had for around 180 bucks. This is a much more powerful card than the X1950PRO and it's the best option to fill in the rest if your budget.

Its a hp a350n, MINI TOWER......that means micro atx right?

Medal of honor is never a demanding game... x1300 or 6600GT would cut it.

the new moh Airborne Minimum requirement is 6600gt. and people say anything less than 7900gt is crap playing it.

so pretty much everyone is going with intel & ATI now?

im looking for a system that i can upgrade in sixth months easily, howabout a mobo compatible with my current 2.8 pentium 4 HT, core 2 duo, core 2 extreme, and quad core??? that would save me $100 now, and i could easily upgrade to a nice cheap quad core in 6 months! and i could afford a better GPU now
