So i recently got a widescreen monitor and wish to play older games that dont support widescreen. I dont want the 4:3 image stretched to fill the widescreen, i want it with black bars on the side staying in the 4:3 ratio.
I have a ati 9800 pro, with catalyst 7.10 driver. In many screenshots of how the catalyst control center should look, i see a "digital panel properties" tab. In this tab has fixed aspect ratio option or centered timings option, either would solve my problem. But in my catalyst control center there is no tab for "digital panel properties."
My ATI 9800 pro outputs DVI-A or VGA, both analog signals, will this keep that tab from showing up for me? I need someway to get fixed aspect ratio or centered timings to prevent stretching of 4:3 games.
