Doing a new build, for a friend. Have everything pcked out except a power supply. He's trying to stay at or below $80, is that possible with this build? Build is almost identical to mine in sig but I'll list out below.

MSI P6N sli-fi motherboard
C2D E6600
2GB Corsair DDR2 800
8800 GTS 640MB
500GB Seagate HDD
Samsung DVD-RW

I would recommend the corsair 520hx or xclio 550w psu

thats your best choice... but 80$ for one is usually a hard find.. unless he buys from you... but he's not devote enough... yet

ok... time to move to 1333fsb processors... get a e6550 or e6750... no no on the board... because p35 chipset is in... get teh 8800gts 320mb instead of the 640mb because it has very little use... now you have saved around $150 on your build.. and now can fit a Corsair 550vx or 520hx

As much as I like my P6N I would also suggest a new P35 chipset board like a DS3R or that other MSI that i can't remember the name of right now. The one with the sweet heatpipes LOL

You can get those XMS or Ballistic,s but I have heard the Ballistics seem to overclock better!

As for motherboard, if you really need SLI probably a low end eVGA 680I, if you do not need SLI grab a P5K or DS3R

Corsair 520hx sounds nice :) I've had great experience with Corsair ram and customer service as well. Will stick with 320mb 8800gts

E6750 Cpu looks awesome, I'll go with that.

Can you recomend a good motherboard for the E6750, Vernong?
Probably get something SLI, just in case but open to ideas.

This is the Ram that is being used, hopefully no problems with that.
Newegg.com - CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

p35-ds3l if you don't want RAID

p35-ds3r if you want RAID or IP35-E if you do want RAID (if you want RAID choose between IP35-E or P35-DS3R
