I had a MP3 player laying around my house which i never used because every 2 days the AAA battery would die on me. So what iv done is, i took a dead MP3 players battery that was built in and unsoldered it from it and added a 2 way switch :
I then soldered one side of the switch straight to the usb (+) positive terminal , and the other side of the switch straight to where the AAA battery use to touch the (+) positive side. The middle of the switch was soldered straight to the (+) Positive of the built in battery i took out earlier form an old MP3
The Ground was soldered to the end where the AAA batteries had a Negative (-)
heres how it looks tucked in:
i then had to modify the back panel in order the battery to fit in nicely:
Before:
After:
After finishing the body up it closed nice and tight, heres a pre-assembled pic
And heres the final result:
how does it work? Well what the switch was used for was switching from recharging the battery while in the USB port and the other was used for the MP3 to be recognized and able to transfer files, etc
The MP3 i used is called "Sigma Tel MSCN" which was 512mb
BTW sry for crappy pictures my camera is garbage
