I'm thinking of building a secondary rig to run emulators on my new TV. So if I want to run GC, PSX/PS2, etc. emulators (As well as NES, Sega Genesis, etc.) will built in video like a Geforce 7025 be enough or should I go for a dedicated card? If I go dedicated, would something like a Geforce 6600 suffice?

My TV is a 50" Panasonic Plasma. I plan to connect using a DVI to HDMI cable since my tv doesn't have dvi inputs. I'm just not sure how much video processing power I'll need to push these images across a 50" screen. As I understand it, most emulators are heavily cpu based, but I'll take the advice from ppl on here who know more than I do about TV connections and so forth.

I may also be watching some movies on the rig. Makes sense to make it a media/emulator machine so keep that in mind.

The specs I had in mind were something like an Athlon 64 3200+/3500+ and 1gb of 667mhz ddr2.

That shouldn't have a problem at all.

I've ran a N64 emulator on my HD tv before with not a problem.

What I've got though is an Athlon xp 2400 with 1GB.

So I would imagine that set up would be more than enough to run last gen console emulators.

Good luck

EDIT: The video card I'm using is a 9600xt
