A friend of mine told me that my power supply sucked...i was like hmmm, i think it works just fine...it turns out to be a 200 or 300 watts i forgets which, but i need to upgrade...

I am wondering what kind of power supply i can get, and for how much and where?

and recommendations are always great

How so very uninformative.

How do you expect us to help you if you can't
Tell us the components of your computer.
Inform us of how much you want to spend.

Ste is right... we lack the info we need, we need to get some extra info.... and also look at the PSU Guide Ste took the time to write... ( OT: omg the new guys don't look our stickies unless we guide them to it...)

Edit also... b4 you find a PSU and say "That guide is wrong, I found a really cheap high wattage PSU" i think its fair to throw this out early... WATTAGE DOES NOT MATTER!!!! AMPERAGE ON THE DUAL or SINGLE 12V COUNT!!!

sry if it came out harsh...

my bad

what sorta of stuff do you need to know

Video card: 7900 GS
2 Gigs of Ram
19'' Monitor
intergrated sound card
idk motherboard
Intel Pentium D Duo Core Proccessor 3.0 GHz

willing to spend as much as required to get what i need

I thought cpu was the intel thing...

and no i dont plan on OC

um.. more specific? and a q6600 is an Intel... but its a safe bet that you have some sort of Core 2 Duo or Pentium D, or P4... then that Forton 450w is perfect... more than enough Rails
