no crossfire yet... still waiting at my door for the ups man to come with my damned pro... i won't have crossfire probably for another 3 or 4 weeks.... i should fix my sig as its deceiving people!

ah that sucks, and yeah...now i feel like how the others have felt!!!

One of the worst thing in bulding a pc is waiting for your parts to arrive...

well good luck with that build...post results when you get time, im curious to see how cross fire works.

ya i don't imagine it being breathtaking with this fx62 though..... i imagine it to be a huge bottleneck.. but i guess we'll find out about that!... but i'm pretty sure it won't fair too well..

with a single pro flash to xt the highest score i've seen paired with a 6000+ at 3.3 ghz was about 12,000.. which isnt bad at all.... with q6600's people have been hitting 13-14,000... insane crap... these 2900 series do awesomely in 3dmark.. if only they performed as well in 3dmark as they did games... dang... lol

This is why I am somewhat against SLI. If you go out and spend $730 on 2 8800GTS cards, you'll only get a minor performance increase at big resolutions over $650 on an 8800Ultra. For most people, getting a 3fps increase at 1600x1200 doesn't justify an extra $80, as well as the extra power and heat issues that SLI can create.

You'll see very minimal gains with SLi or CF at low resolutions, but at much larger resolutions it is not unknown to reach an increase of 70% or more.

Well with my e6550 @3.43ghz and my gpu oc to 710/1135 i got a 3dmark of 13880.

But when i play games i usually just have my gpu at 675/1125...

ati just needs better drivers...i love nvidia though.

ya i've been on both sides of the fence several times.. and i love both nvidia and ati.. i've been through too many graphics cards..

6800gs (2 of em, seperate occassions), 7900gt (single and SLi) 6800 vanilla, 7300gt, x1900xt, x1950pro, x1950xtx, x300, 8800gts 640mb, and an 8600gts 512mb... lol i've been through too many...

but out of em all, i think i loved the x1950xtx the most... cuz at its time.. it was a **** of a card, and was awesome to say you had it... lol.. i guess you could say its what the ultra is now.. so enjoy it!!

wow...thats a lot of cards...im imagining how many times you had to keep reintalling drivers!!! I do agree with the 1950xtx, a lot of ppl loved that card.

"6800 vanilla"? never heard of that one.

I started of with ps2,xbox,integrated 6100,7600gt,7900gs,8800gts 320mb, then the ultra.

And yes, this card is a beast...performance wise and look wise, although after adding the hr03plus it looks weak.

awww yaaa, the heatsink on that card was dead sexy.. too bad it sucked huh? lol.... ya 6800 vanilla was like the lowest possible 6800 there was.. ddr1 ram.. and low clock speeds... lol, it got the job done... but not well enough!
