Something Seriously Wrong With My CPU!

I very srongly suggest aftermarket cooling. My TT Bigwater was better than stock cooling from Intel.. and that says a lot lol.

Intel stock cooling is extremly poor and anyone here I'm sure would agree if they knew what they were tlaking about.

yeah...likely it turns off because it is overheating, man.
did you ever check to see if it had thermal grease?

Thanks for the helpful tips everyone I finally worked it out!

I took off the heatsink and wiped off the stock thermal paste and reapplied some AS5. As it turns out one side of the heatsink was barely making any contact. I secured it back down and voila beautiful temperatures!

OC'ed to 2.8 GHz, Just ran 3DMark06 and I'm sitting at 39 degrees celsius!

Now the only problem remaining is getting this second GB of RAM into my system. Gonna have to talk to those dodgy computer market fellows next time they are here.
