Don't buy from TD. They're usually overpriced, and their service isn't that good.

Newegg is a must, if you're in the US, which I assumed.

So here's a list:

Case - Your choice...
Motherboard - Gigabyte P35-DS3R
CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz OEM (From ClubIT.com)
RAM - 2GB Patriot Extreme Performance DDR2-800
Graphics - HIS HD 2900PRO 512MB
Power Supply - Corsair 550VX
Hard Drive - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB
Optical Drive - Sony NEC Optiarc DVD Burner
Optional Aftermarket HSF - Tuniq 120 (From svc.com)
Thermal Paste - Arctic Silver 5

To save a bit of money, if you want:
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz
Motherboard - Gigabyte P35-DS3L
Heatsink - Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro (No need to buy thermal paste, if you go with this.)

thats good... but he could always go with a e2180 overclock it, and then move up to a Yorkfield later...

also why was his original build have a 7800gs AGP... that board is PCI-e...

Thanks everyone, I have a good machine spec'd out now.

on the AGP card, I was flipping between pages and overlooked that it was an AGP card :embarassed:
