I will be running a 8800gts 640 mb video card, Core 2 quad cpu, asus p5n32-sli 680i mobo, 2x 320gb Seagate barracuda 7200, 2 optical drives and about 8x120mm fans. i might use a second 8800 video card and use them both in sli mode

I was gonna use a 1000w psu but after reading the review regarding people overspending money on their psu i am now trying to save some money on this.

Any help would be appreciated

Corsair 550VX, 520HX, or 620HX.

Either one of those, will power that system fine.

It's a waste to SLI two 8800GTSs. Just get an Ultra.

I would purchase this one.

CORSAIR VX550W 550W Power Supply CMPSU-550VX Power Supply Retail at ZipZoomfly

However this one is a bit more powerful for not too much more and gives you more upgradability if you go Crossfire or SLI.

Corsair HX Series CMPSU-520HX 520W Power Supply at ZipZoomfly

EDIT: Or Crossfire two 2900 PRO's, Crossfire currently scales better than SLI does. With Crossfire you can go with a P35 board as well which are much better and more stable boards than the 680i. The P35 supports Crossfire but not SLI.
