Help with Beta Build

Glad to hear you took our advice! If you wanted to, you culd let me know a budget on CPU/mobo and I could help. Actually for the mobo, get a P35 chipset. They're highly overclockable and support Intels upcoming 45nm in '08.

A mid to lower end C2D, that gigabyte mobo, Curcial Ballistix, and a nice heatsink would overclock amazingly.

The Gigabyte P35-DS3R. It's an AWESOME overclocking board.

The only reason I run Vista is for DX10. I dual boot Ubuntu 7.04 and just keep Vista for gaming.

Ultimate isn't going to do anything for you Premium can't. Go 32-bit. 64-bit is another year MAYBE. ATM, 64-bit is borderline usless. I don't even know of any Anti-virus software for it. And it's not like games can use 64-bit to their benefit.

the IP35 PRo is a great board.. but its pricy... so here at the forum we like the gigabyte p35-ds3l or ds3r (ds3l if you have no need of RAID)

haha, AVG Virus Scanner can use it! woot! But yea, I have 64bit and I can't even use my old photoshop on it :-( and it has a hard time identifying some other stuff that you may download.. no, not porn..
If I was building again I would go with the 32bit version.

Ha! No sit? I remember when I was running RC1 of Vista, I didn't even tink AVG had a 64-bit version, interesting!

That's the two builds, not entirely final... but closer than I've been all along of course...

AMD is the stock build, Intel the OC'ing system. I intend to look into the new quad-cores when they release.

Though, for now if we can finally knuckle down on this... then I'll see you all in the monitors thread and seal the deal!

Thanks again...

looks good.... are you reusing your keyboard cuz theres none on that list

lol, crap... forgot to add that in there... not a big factor... but even though it's not on the list it's factored into the price...

of course in the long run hopefully I can knock it down a few bucks from ordering from ZZF... the case at least anyway... think of anything else that would be okay to get from ZZF instead of newegg? (even though I like newegg)

isnt that monitor like $220?
cuz you can get a 22''er for that much

Yeah, I need help with the monitors somewhat. I'm basing that pick because my friend is stressing "LG's" on me... and I tried to find the best contrast ratio I could... on newegg it's listed as 3000:1... but... seems like many of the reviews are saying it's actually 5000:1

Size isn't THAAAAT big of a deal to me... I know back in the day I was fine with 19" CRT's... though, maybe time for something larger...

Just because, I used to be a fan of viewsonic... and I know HannsG seems to be big right now... but I'm up for suggestions... by all means... please.. lol (picture tends to be a big deal to me, due to photography, photomanipulation, web and graphic design etc)

Glad to see that Intel build! The E6750 is an awesome proc. It overclocks very well.

Wow dude, awesome awesome build. That's definetly a higher end beast.

Hope it works out. And when you start to overclock make sure you post about it and let us know!
