so I installed Half Life 2 and it works HORRIBLY, it lags and the sound is all twisted and it won't even work on the lowest resolution. I mean I thought it would because WoW used to be installed on this computer and it worked pretty well but anyways I think if I upgrade the cards It will work better. What am I supposed to buy and how do I know what is compatible?
my budget is like 60 bucks unless I need more. thanks a bunch

I LOVE YOU MAN. You managed to get HL2 to run on a VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP. Anyways, skip the hassle and give me the HP model number. Those specs are funky. I am leaning towards the assumption that it is integrated graphics and I don't know if that HP has a video slot. HL2 isn't working at the lower resolution because that video card/chip is rubbish.

lol you're right! it is rubbish. Hp model number is, HP Pavilion a1030e if thats wat you mean. Its kind of an old computer but Im pretty sure the videocards not integrated because I blew it up once and the people who fixed it replaced the old one with this one.

That has a 1.5V AGP 4X slot. I'll let someone recommend a card for that.

is your best bet for AGP.. because it'll be likely that you won't need to change your PSU and not bottleneck your CPU
