So, I finally managed to reformat my computer. Pulled my head out of my arse and figured it out but now I have bigger problems.

Everything went fine w/the general reformmating process, windows is running just fine but it's some of my hardware that isn't working correctly. My sound card, ethernet card, and some of my onboard mobo features aren't working right either. I've reinstalled the drivers for the above with the software that came w/each but no luck.

I've rolled back my sound card drivers, installed new ones, but no luck. No sound out of any of the correct ports until I try plugging into mic port and for some odd reason, I get sound out of that. The quality is horrible and incredibly low but sound still plays from it.

Any ideas/solutions would be greatly appreciated.

was on windows xp prof and reformatted to the same.
mobo is asus nvidia nforce a8x5nx I do believe. The numbers might be off a bit.
