processor at half speed?

I think i figured it out! The CPU External Frequency was set to 100MHz and the motherboard manual says to set it to 1/2 of what the FSB is. I changed it to 166 (half of 333) and my computer is now running at 2.06Ghz! I hope I didnt mess anything up by doing that but it seems to have solved the problem. On another note, I was thinking of overclocking my processor a little bit. Can anyone help me out with that? The motherboard manual mentions overclocking in the bios setup, do I only have to set "system performance" in the Advanced Chipset menu of the BIOS to "aggressive" instead of "optimal"?

I would not recommend overclocking your CPU using the AMD Fan.



More importantly (if you really want to overclock).

The AMD XP2600+ is supposed to handle heat upto 75 degrees, but you will experience stability problems way before this.

What is your current CPU Temperature? Install ASUS Probe from your motherboard drivers CD.
