want to upgrade..need help

hi frnds,
i need help regarding pc upgrade..i currently hav a very outdated pc with a p4 1.9 ghz cpu and motherboard intel via GIV 11...it doesnt hav enough onboard graphics and an obsolete agp 4x slot...given my limited budget somebody suggested me that i go for MSI K9vgm-v via k8m890+vt8237a chipset with amd athlon 64x2 dual-core processor 3600+ plus 1gb ddr2 ram....i want to play games like quake 4,civilization 4,nfs most wanted etc and use softwares like photoshop etc.....wat do u suggest..does the above config. meet my requirements...if not plz do suggest others..

GRAFIX: X1950PRO (DX9) 2900XT, 2900PRO, 8800GTS (DX10)

PS: Corsair HX 510/ Xclio goodpower 500

RAM: 2GB DDR2 800. (any brand)

OS: Windows XP (well thats just my opinion)

HD: 320/500GB Samsung Spinpoint

not "anybrand" lol
go with crucial, patriot, g skill, corsair, with 4-4-4 timings
and seagate makes higher quality drives than samsung
go with 7200.10 series 250gb or 320gb
and the e4500 isnt much more
and if he's not RAID'ing the P35-DS3l is a cheaper option
as his budget is probably not UBER high he might not need a modular Active PFC psu
