Do Winamp's ads bother you? Nix'em.

I love the fact that winamp will rip you a playlist file along with the songs from your music cd.

none of the other ones do that. it also rips to aac and aac pro which are superior formats

I kind'o put the fairly new ads in Winamp/Shoutcast aside, ignoring them...but really, they get incredibly annoying when the ad takes time to load, and takes up half of the previously-viewable area. Nonetheless, I finally searched and found a simple solution... (Note, buying Winamp Pro will not remove the ads.)

Apparently they're using limited ad servers, so if you just add these two entries to your hosts file, you'll be good for the present time: Noting that your hosts file is in "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc". WinAmp bothers me, which is why JetAudio has been my media player of choice for the last few years.
