x1950xt or 7950GT

I've been waiting since early this month for the x1950xt to come back in stock in newegg, and I can't seen to find it anywhere else, or for a reasonable price.


I was checking Tom's Hardware, and the 7950GT seems to perform about equally with the x1950xt

I know the ATI card has VIVO, and a faster clock speed, but I can live without VI 370MHz

Should I wait it out for the x1950xt to come back in stock, or just go with the 7950GT?

First: Tom's Hardware charts are not reliable

Second: X1950XT performs slightly better than 7950GT

Third: The page for ATI video card you posted is cached. The cheapest available X1950XT in newegg is $260. You can get 8800GTS 320MB for the same price

x1950xt is slightly better... but some people complain it runs too hot and loud so add a VF-900

but like Maroon said... they are out of stock same with a 7950gt.. out of stock too:

so u'll either have to settle with a lower card... or get an 8800gts 320mb if you can afford it

Ati cards usually run hotter as it is, if you have good airflow it shouldn't matter. It's worth spending the little extra for an 8800gts 320mb which will beat both of those cards by far.

the x1950xt has been at that price since it was in stock a month or so ago, so I'm expecting newegg to keep it there.

and the 7950gt was in stock when I posted this thread -_-

also, my graphics budget is only at about $200

1950 hands down. Well in uk its cheaper and faster than 7950. Dont know about US tho.

In games there going to perform identical, there wont be any frames per second increase by using the 1950 pro, get which ever is cheapest
