OC Noob, Help PLZ!!!!

Ok so first of all I basically dont even know what overclocking is really, i know its making something faster than it is but i still dont really understand it. So if someone can clear it up for me that would be great.

Once I fully understand overclocking, I would like to overclock my 7600GT, Corsair XM2 2GB RAM, and my E6750 CPU. How, and Where do I start!!!!

when you have a product, the manufacturers set it at stock clock speeds

when you overclock, you set the speeds higher then what the manufactuers set it at

to overclock a graphics card you use AtiTool (google)

what you do with that, is raise the Core speeds slightly (5-25 mhz) then scan for artifacts for a good 5-10 minutes, then raise the mem speed (5-25 mhz) then scan for artifacts etc. repeat until you get artifacts

hey, still new to the OCing world myself so probably not the best for giving advice. here is my original thread which explains a lot of the basics of ocing, I asked a lot of the newb quesitons....it might help you out a bit. note that it's an amd build so different than yours, but most of the basics are the same for Ocing
