Build a computer for a customer with the following specifications :-
P4 2.8GHZ 533MHZ FSB 1M ATC 478PIN .13U (PRESCOTT)_
ASROCK GE Pro-M2/M/ASR Motherboard
512Mb DDR Ram
Samsung 80 Gb IDE Hard drive @ 7200 RPM
BenQ 16x DVD
Pioneer DVD-RW 107
5 1/4 Bay 6-in-1 Card Reader connected via USB
PS/2 Keyboard
P/S 2 Mouse
Panasonic 1.44Mb
Case with 300 Watt PSU, FP/USB FP/USB
Windows XP Pro

I assembled the computer completely. Installed Windows Xp Pro, plus additional software. Everything running fine. But one problem.

The 5 1/4 Bay 6-in-1 Card Reader connected via USB is taking up the drive letters of C, D, E, F, G, H. Therefore it moved the primary master hard drive down to I.

So if you open up MY COMPUTER, you see :-
Drive A : Floppy
Drive C : 6 in 1 Card Reader
Drive D : 6 in 1 Card Reader
Drive E : 6 in 1 Card Reader
Drive F : 6 in 1 Card Reader
Drive G : 6 in 1 Card Reader
Drive H : 6 in 1 Card Reader
Drive I : Samsung 80Gb Hard Drive
Drive J : BenQ 16DVD Rom
Drive K : Pioneer DVD-RW 107

I need to move the Samsung 80Gb Hard Drive from Drive I to Drive C.

How do I go about doing that? (preferably with out having to format the hard drive and reinstalling the OS.

Please help.

its not possible at least to my knowledge to change the letter of the primary drive you can try, go to start-control panel-Administrative Tools-Computer Managment-Disk Managment- Right click the hdd and hit change drive letter.

Does the card reader have a jumper setting? Check the jumper setting on the hard drive and make sure it is set to Master.

Fixed it up. I had to format the drive and do about 2 hours worth of work all over again, but it all done.
